Our Master Butchers acknowledged in Euro Competition.

Following the UK team’s tremendous effort (well done to Simon Hulstone and the team) at the recent Bocuse d’Or competition we’re delighted to report on the contribution made to the European Etal Competition by our very own Master Butchers, Martin Crombie and Michael Perkins.
For the very first time, ENGLAND were invited to enter a team, and Aubrey Allen were the chosen UK representatives. It’s important to note that most competitors enter this prestigious event (organised by Pierre Perrin and his butcher colleagues of the Lyon region) year after year and spend at least 12 months preparing...Aubrey Allen’s butchers had just 2 weeks notice!
Supported by Dick Van Leeuwen (Master Butcher – EBLEX) Martin and Michael put on a great show, so much so that the French butchers (both participating and watching) were so impressed with the high-level of skills exhibited that they are already talking about Anglo/Franco collaborations!

"Well briefed by Dick Van Leeuwen and Peter Allen, the two English candidates Martin Crombie and Michael Perkins (coached by Russell Allen) made a noticeable contribution to the European Etal Competition. Martin and Michael, the only foreign candidates were well prepared and delivered an outstanding performance which was highly appreciated by the jury and their French competitors. Martin even received the special prize for originality. The organisation was spotless and working conditions were ideal. This first collaboration will lead to further projects to be developed by French and English butchers."
