Bacon
Sizzling, naturally cooked bacon like it used to taste? There can be no better than our wonderful Sandridge Farm Wiltshire cured bacon or Jimmy Butler's specially selected free range cured Aubrey Allen bacon.
Sandridge Farm bacon
Curing pig meat (bacon making) is an ancient country craft relying on a skilful blending of salts, herbs, spices and sugars. The Salting and Smoking of Bacon is synonymous with Wiltshire. This 18th Century quotation puts it rather nicely; “The old pig of this district, the large long-eared, when kept to the proper age, well fattened with corn, and its bacon well dried with wood, got the county of Wiltshire the character it has for so long and deservedly had for good bacon”. The Keen family have farmed in Wiltshire for many generations. Following in his father’s footsteps Roger Keen, who was born and raised at Sandridge Farm, grows mostly grain on just over 300 acres, this grain together with the left over portion of milk from cheese-making provides a natural diet free of artificial hormones, growth promoters or routine antibiotic feed additives, which is fed to the herd of 350 sows and young.
Black Pudding
Irish Clonakilty Black Pudding is Ireland's most famous Black Pudding. Made from a traditional recipe and using only natural ingredients, the pudding taste and texture are what make it unique.
Macsween’s Haggis
Macsween's haggis
Honouring this particular Scottish delicacy, our suppliers Macsween's take great care making their unique haggis and use only the finest ingredients. Lamb, beef, oatmeal, onion, and a special blend of seasoning and spices are cooked together. While haggis is the culinary centrepiece of the Burns Supper celebrated on 25th January, this wonderfully versatile dish is increasingly appreciated throughout the year. Macsween's Haggis is a gastronomic gem and makes regular appearances on the menus of cafes, bistros and restaurants across the land.
