Not only is Jimmy Butler an award winning farmer in his own right but in recent years his unique collaborations with us have won us joint accolades for our sausage creations and also Aubrey Allen the title of Free Range Pork Supplier at the National Pig and Poultry Awards 2008.
Our outdoor reared free range pork is naturally bred and fed by Pig Farmer of the Year, Jimmy Butler. Jimmy has over 20,000 pigs roaming free in large paddocks with the benefit of a sea breeze which gives our pork a wonderful taste. The pigs are given space and time to grow and the sandy Suffolk soil is the perfect ground for them to roam in a stress free environment. The pigs are reared longer than average to intensify the succulence and flavour. This combination of environment and expertise results in a flavoursome pork with full traceability from gate to plate. Jimmy and his team hand select Aubrey Allen's pigs (these being only female gilts) with just the right fat cover and shape. This is less than 9% of the farm and for extra customer assurance the carcasses selected for us are stamped with our name.
