Tee-Time for Celebrity Chefs!
27th September 2011
Some of the UK’s top celebrity chefs took a relaxing break from the kitchen by swinging into action with their favourite butcher in the annual Aubrey Allen Pro-Am Golf Day at Coventry Finham Golf Club.
The Michelin star line-up included Michel Roux, Brian Turner, Andreas Antona, Jeff Galvin and Daniel Galmiche who joined other customers from Aubrey Allen and PGA Professionals from Warwickshire and the West Midlands.
Competing in 20 teams of four for the bumper prizes on offer, the overall team winners were Neil Taylor, Bill Hancock, Gareth Howells and Brett Healy with 84 points. But everyone proved a winner on the day as they sat down to a celebration beef feast, courtesy of Aubrey Allen and went home armed with golf and raffle prizes.
The Pro-Am Golf Day, which has been staged annually by Aubrey Allen since 2000, has become a firm fixture in both the catering and golf calendar raising a considerable amount of money for charitable worthy causes. Thanks to the support of Aubrey Allen and its customers, more than £2000 was raised this year on behalf of Myton Hospice and FROLIC (Friends for the renovation of Long Itchington Church) from the raffle and silent auction.
